Vizi engages students, improves results at Indiana’s largest college
Muncie, Ind. – Ivy Tech Instructor Crystal Frayer piloted Vizi’s Rhetoric, Composition, and Expression for a Digital Age as the primary learning resource in her spring semester section of ENG 111 at Ivy Tech’s Muncie campus. At the end of the semester, a survey was taken of her students regarding their impressions of Vizi.
The results confirm the strong engagement of students with Vizi texts.
Students who volunteered a narrative rating of Vizi said:
- “Vizi is far more efficient than a textbook.”
- “I used Vizi as my textbook and it was very helpful. Anytime I had a question I knew I could find the answer through Vizi. The absolute best part about Vizi is how easy it is to understand the lessons because [the author] really explains everything to the fullest extent.”
Finally, in a panel discussion at a seminar for Ivy Tech adjunct faculty, Crystal Frayer summarized her support of Vizi’s multimodal approach to learning resources succinctly:
Armed with the positive reaction of both the instructor and her students, Vizi is working to customize an English Composition text to more comprehensively fit Ivy Tech’s ENG 111 course. Two instructors at Ivy Tech’s Muncie campus will be using Vizi in their sections of English Composition in the fall of 2015.
Vizi is making a difference in courses at Roosevelt University, and is ready to do the same for instructors and institutions of higher education across the country. Contact Vizi today to arrange a demonstration.
