Muncie, Ind. (November 12, 2014) – Vizi’s booth in the Ryman Exhibit Hall of the Gaylord Opryland Resort opens tomorrow at 4:30 pm as the AMATYC Annual Conference kicks off in Nashville, TN. Robin Rufatto, author of Vizi’s Math in the Liberal Arts is attending the conference and presenting a poster session discussing how a team of instructors at Ball State University used the multimodal resource that is Vizi to redesign a math curriculum.
Vizi looks forward to introducing instructors to Vizi’s Math text. Students today read media better than text, and Vizi can help instructors engage students using Vizi’s rich media, multimodal, interactive approach.
The American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges is purposed to provide a national forum for the improvement of mathematics instruction in the first two years of college. With approximately 1,800 members in the United States and Canada, AMATYC is the only organization formed for this purpose. The organization provides professional development opportunities for educators interested in the first two years of collegiate mathematics instruction through its annual conference, among other opportunities.
Our purpose is to transform lives by making education more engaging. That is why we publish unique, online, interactive, multimodal texts. Designed for students in higher education, Vizi uses interactive simulations, games, animations, graphics, videos, and text to engage students in their studies. Vizi is used in all types of classrooms, whether traditional, flipped or online. Independent laboratory research confirms the transformative results of Vizi’s media-driven, multimodal focus – improving results by as much as three letter grades.
